Crypto backtesting
Crypto backtesting tests a trading strategy before real capital is at risk.
Crypto backtesting uses historical candles for markets such as BTC/USDT and ETH/USDT to simulate entries, exits, fees, slippage, stop loss, and take profit.

What should a crypto backtest include?
A serious crypto backtest should include the symbol, timeframe, test period, entry rule, exit rule, trade direction, position size, commission, slippage, stop loss, and take profit. Without these inputs, a profitable result can be misleading because crypto markets are volatile and transaction costs can change outcomes.
Example setup
A practical crypto test could use BTC/USDT on the 1H timeframe for 6 months, a pullback rule near EMA 9 and EMA 21, long-only direction, 2% position size, 0.10% commission, 5 bps slippage, 2% stop loss, and 4% take profit. The result should be judged by profit factor, drawdown, trade count, and whether losses cluster in sideways markets.
Why use Backtest for crypto strategies?
Backtest lets traders select crypto pairs, test preset or manual strategy rules, inspect every closed trade on a chart, and review metrics such as net profit, win rate, drawdown, profit factor, and trade count. Authenticated users can also use AI analysis to identify weak trade clusters and improvement ideas.
